The Price River Water Improvement District is accepting applications for the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following: operation and maintenance of the culinary water treatment plant, operation of backhoe and dump truck, chemical additions and calculations, line repair, sampling, landscape work, lifting, janitorial work, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
This position requires shift work, weekends, and holidays. A general aptitude test and a physical agilities test will be given to the final applicants chosen. Also, a Commercial Driver’s License will be required within 60 days of date of hire, and a complete physical and drug screen will be required of the chosen applicant prior to employment. This is an entry level position with hourly wages commensurate with applicable experience and according to the District’s wage scale but may be filled at a higher position with a candidate of higher qualifications. The Price River Water Improvement District will hold a public hearing to receive input related to their intent to seek, secure, and issue a “Non-Voted Revenue Bond” for the purpose of funding the “Nutrient Removal Project” at the District’s wastewater treatment plant.
Applications to the Permanent Community Impact Board and the Water Quality Board will be completed to request funding assistance in the amount of $3,200,000.00. It is anticipated that no change in the current sewer rate will be required at this time. The public hearing will be held on June 2, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the District’s Service Center located at 265 South Fairgrounds Road in Price, Utah. Those wishing to attend the public hearing telephonically will need to contact the District office during business hours prior to the public hearing for instructions on how to access the conference call system at (435) 637-6350. The Price River Water Improvement District is offering a “Payment Deferral Option” to customers who have been, or who may become, financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The application below needs to be filled out and returned to the PRWID office for consideration. Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and the following conditions and information must be included in the submittal: 1. Your account must be current as of March 31, 2020. 2. All applications must be submitted in writing with all information complete. 3. A customer must list how they were affected by COVID-19 and how it affected their ability to pay. This includes where they were working and who their supervisor is/was. 4. Payments for April, May, and June may be deferred upon condition that account will become current before December 31, 2020. 5. In the case of a rental account requesting to be deferred, the property owner or manager must also agree to the deferral allowance.

Price River Water Improvement District has 1,000 shares of Scofield Reservoir water to lease for 2020 irrgation season. Shares will be available to lease from March 16, 2020 to May 1, 2020 at the main office at 265 S Fairgrounds Rd. The cost of water shares will be $25.00 per share with a limit of 50 water shares per person.
Jaci Adams, Clerk Price River Water Improvement District On August 29, 2019. the Southeast Utah Health Department (SEUHD) and the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received a report of a potential harmful bloom at Scofield Reservoir. DWQ field staff visited the reservoir and provided same-day visual confirmation of a cyanobacteria bloom throughout the reservoir.
The division collected samples at multiple locations on August 29, 2019. Toxin-screening testing conducted on August 29 and 30, 2019, was nondetect for toxins. DWQ delivered the samples to the lab for toxin analysis and cell identification and concentration. Results are expected sometime during the week of September 3-6th. Scofield Reservoir remains open for recreation. It's recommended that recreationists not swim or water ski in areas of scum, avoid boating in areas of scum, not ingest untreated water, and keep animals away from the water. Visitors are cautioned to be mindful of water conditions, as blooms may move or disperse depending on temperature, wind, and weather. The drinking water continues to be safe. Testing and treatment specific for these conditions are ongoing. Beginning Monday August 19th at 9 a.m., there will be no water service from 2266 S. Highway 10 to 2410 S. Highway 10 only on the west side of HWY 10 as the contractor completes an interconnection in the water line.
A Fire Hydrant is being moved Friday August 16th starting at 9 a.m. which will necessitate the interruption of water service from 2345 S Highway 10 to 2501 S. Highway 10. This will impact only the homes on the east side of Hwy 10.
